Information to know before you arrive

Be sure to read the Club Presidents Training Manual before you arrive at PETS. There is a copy on the site that you can download.

Glance at the “PETS Program Schedule 2017” on this web site. You’ll get a good preview of many of the classes you will be taking at PETS.

PE’s will get their name badges, bags, name tents, and program at Registration.  All others will get their name badges and programs only. .  All other materials will be distributed at their District rooms.  Registration will be open from 4-6pm on Thursday and the same times as last year the rest of the time

What time does PETS start?

It depends!

The official opening ceremony will be held during lunch on Friday. The doors for the dining room will open at 11:50am. Name badges are required for entry.

BUT many of you have registered for elective classes — they are scheduled on Friday at 9am, 10am, and 11am. Be sure to allow time to pick up your name badge in your district room Imperial Room C before going to an elective class.

Parking at the LAX Marriott

Parking (regular parking NOT valet) at the LAX Marriott is FREE during the PETS weekend for everyone who is registered.

If you arrive before the 3pm hotel check-in time on Friday, we suggest leaving your luggage safely locked in the trunk of your car – and then parking in the underground parking structure. Take the parking stub with you. When you do check-in your room, be sure the hotel registration agent knows you have parked in the parking structure. Then retrieve your luggage and proceed to your room. As an alternative, you can ask the bell staff to store your luggage until you can check into your room.

If you arrive after 3pm, use the bell staff or bring your luggage to the hotel registration desk as you check-in. What to do when you arrive on Friday

If you arrive before noon (on Friday), go directly to Imperial C from 8:00am-12:00 and the Philadelphia Room from 12:00-6:00p. ALL your registration material including your name badge will be there. You will need your name badge for admission to the luncheon.

If you arrive sometime other than Friday, go to the PETS Information / Registration Booth on the lower level. Note, the PETS Information / Registration Booth will be closed during meal times, except for Friday lunch.

What about my partner/spouse

If you didn’t sign up for the session, update your registration. If you forgot to register, come anyway.

Partners or spouses are encouraged and invited to participate in any or all of the other instructional periods. If they would prefer, they are free to use their time any way they would like.

Name Badges

Remember, everyone (partners and spouses included) must wear their name badges to all meals and classes.

What to bring to PETS

Bring whatever you need to take good notes – perhaps a notebook and a pencil. You may also bring a laptop or digital notebook – BUT there will be NO power plugs in the classrooms.

Business casual attire is perfectly acceptable for all sessions. If you bring your district shirt, wear it! Some may choose to wear a sport coat and tie (or equivalent) for the two evening meals.

Photographer

A professional photographer has been hired to take portrait pictures of each attendee free of charge. Individuals will receive a free electronic jpg of their pictures and may purchase business cards through this service. We encourage PEs to dress in business attire for the photographs. Make plans to have your picture taken during your “free time”.

Vendors

Six licensed vendors of Rotary-themed items will be present on Friday and Saturday. Please visit their displays during breaks and unscheduled time.

Sergeants-at-Arms

You’ll see friendly SAAs in distinctive attire all around our areas. They know EVERYTHING. If you have a question, ask them.

Lost and Found

If you’d like to become reconnected to a lost item, check at the Registration/Information Desk.

Check out

Check out time on Sunday is 1pm. But the hotel is full that evening, so don’t delay your departure. Remember, it is a nice gesture to leave a tip for the hard-working folks who clean your room each day.

Feedback/Satisfaction Survey

Shortly after you return home, you will receive a Satisfaction Survey in your email. Please return it promptly. Each year we make improvements based on feedback from you, our customers.
