DGE 5330 Ricardo “Taco” Loretta

Ricardo “Taco” Loretta is a member and Past President of Palm Desert Rotary Club and has served as District 5330 AG and District Membership Chair in the past 3 years. His club was named “Best in District” and he was District Rotarian of the Year when president in 2013/14. The District ROY award was presented to him again in 2014/15. This year, Jennifer is President of Palm Desert Rotary Club. She has also been District Club Service Chair and was named Rotarian of the Year in her club four years ago.
Ricardo was raised in Mexico, and he and Jennifer have lived in Mexico and Brazil. Ricardo is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, and earned a BA from Chapman University and MBA from USC. In his corporate career he led Clark Equipment Company’s International Division with business activities in 50+ countries. He currently is Executive Director of Dr. Carreón Foundation, a 26 year old endowment which provides educational support for youth of Latino origin through college scholarships. In 2014 the Coachella Valley chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals recognized Ricardo for fundraising and service leadership with the “Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation” award on National Philanthropy Day.
Jennifer is a Development Director at Habitat For Humanity in Palm Desert and previously spent 20 years with Time Warner Cable where she was Marketing Director in the Desert Cities Division. An accomplished event organizer, she is proud of having chaired the San Diego Ad Club’s 90th Anniversary Gala in 2001, as well as a host of Rotary events in the past five years.
The Lorettas have been married 53 years and are parents to three sons, with three grandchildren.
